Taxpayer Funded Education

"For seven years, the Los Angeles Unified School District has paid Matthew Kim a teaching salary of up to $68,000 per year, plus benefits. His job is to do nothing."

We're doomed. Story here.

"In the jargon of the school district, Kim is being "housed" while his fitness to teach is under review. A special education teacher, he was removed from Grant High School in Van Nuys and assigned to a district office in 2002 after the school board voted to fire him for allegedly harassing teenage students and colleagues."

Kim shouldnt be "housed". He should be BIG housed! Reward bad behavior with bad experiences.

As a former state employee, let me be clear that there are plenty of good, dedicated, hard-working folks that work at all levels of government services. That being said, I know from personal experience that there is plenty of wast as well and that it is even sometimes encouraged - for increased funding/budgeting reasons.
