My favorite spot is the intersection in New Market where Jackson turned his troops off the Valley Pike, over Massanutten, and on to Front Royal to surprise Banks. You can stand there and almost see the long line of men and horses climbing up that hill. As the song says, "Proud Valley Boys."
Anon:Yes, a neat spot. In reading your comment, I tried to think of my own favorite - too numerous to pick one, though Meems Bottom near Mount Jackson comes to mind for its beauty.
