Franklin County Confederate Statue Dedication

According to the Franklin County Historical Society's website . . .

"Dedication of new Confederate Monument on the Franklin County courthouse green. 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7. Keynote speaker Dr. James I. Robertson Jr., distinguished history professor VA Tech. Living history encampment at The Grove, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed during the ceremony) with artillery demonstration including cannon, re-enactors, 1860s period attire. Visit the N. Morris Building across from the courthouse to purchase souvenirs and to enjoy The Flora Morris Memorial Civil War Exhibit for free."
