A Southern Icon

Making and selling products with old-fashioned Southern values. Notice the portrait of Lee hanging on the good Colonel's office wall. Ah, a man after my own heart.

A longer video with a little more information:

The Colonel's website is here. They told me business has never been better.

I spent some time on his website when I was trying to find comparable bags to those of Saddleback Leather. The Colonel’s version that he shows at the beginning of the first video and halfway through the second has fake buckles with snaps! His other products look very nice though.

Looks like a great place to ride my motorcycle to! A definite must see to go on my list.

Hey Scott. Yeah, I noticed that too. That's the nice thing about SBL's bags - there's really nothing on them to break or wear out. I like the Colonel's design though. I ordered a cap and some of those little journal note pads.

Definitely. I was in Franklin a few years ago while working on the Stonewall film - it's a beautiful area. This is good reason to go back!

He doesn't list a store in Franklin, but that was my first thought when they showed the downtown store. Franklin is a charming little town that has been nicely renovated.
