I Am Not A Citizen Of The World

Apolitical history blogger Michael Aubrecht, marches on with his rants against the right while he continues to ignore the socialists currently in charge. See here and here. Quite amazing to watch.

It will be interesting to read Michael's "citizen of the world" post. After previously claiming the Founders were socialists and progressives, I think he's now suggesting that he's going to assign the "citizen of the world" title to them as well. That particular subject will also be addressed in an upcoming post here as it relates to our history and academic historians.

So now we are sniping me on posts that I haven't even written yet? My God Richard, you've turned into a bitter dude...

Good one Chaps. ;o)

And very true.

Good morning Michael. Your criticisms are objective but mine are sniping and bitter? Hmmmm . . .

You're in the arena Michael.

The difference Richard is that I post criticisms about strangers...You specifically post them about me. You seem to take things so personally nowadays when you’re the one who is posting things that are personally directed at me. You have called me apolitical, clueless, misguided, etc. (I guess I know how Kevin feels.)

Regardless, I cannot believe that you are commenting on posts before I even write them. Really I’m worried about you. You’ve become a full-time antagonist. Are you even aware of how obsessed you come off with your constant criticisms of academia? Are you aware that there are only 3 blogs (out of 43) in the CWI blogosphere that still link to you? Of the 14 posts on your main page, 9 of them are political rants. I actually had people come up to me at the Gathering of Eagles and tell me how they couldn't believe how far you've gone and how they couldn’t believe that I still link to you.

BTW: I never said the Founders were Socialists. I specifically said they weren’t. (You should read posts in their entirety before you link to them.) I believe the exact quote is: “Personally, I don't think the Founders were what we would consider today to be Socialists. I don't believe the current administration is either.”

The fact that you truly believe that the country has been taken over by a socialist administration comes off a bit paranoid. I don’t know about you but my quality of life continues to improve. And now that I work for the Govt. I really like it when they fund us and put more money in my pocket.

Finally, I never-ever said I was objective. I think Sarah Palin is a fraud and I that the TP folks and their candidates are embarrassing themselves. They are THE only target of mine and will continue to call them out (along with the rest of the majority-media).

"You specifically post them about me"

No, about your posts and analysis.

"You have called me apolitical, clueless, misguided, etc."

No, you claim to be apolitical and just interested in the historical aspect. You've said so yourself. Your posts reveal that not to be the case. In regards to the fundamentals of political theory, philosophy as it relates to the history of the U.S., you are misguided.

"Are you even aware of how obsessed you come off with your constant criticisms of academia?"

Do I even care? No. The truth is the truth. I'm sorry you have difficulty dealing with it. Are you even aware of how obsessed you come off with your constant criticisms of conservatives and the Tea Party?

"the CWI blogosphere"

The CW blogosphere does not begin and end with "CWI." Besides, I'm not running a popularity contest here. I appreciate links, but I don't base my posts and interests on whether or not they'll be accepted or agreed to by others. That would be a pretty sad and cowardly way to live one's life. No thanks.

And you're going to charge me with political rants? That's rich.

"I actually had people come up to me at the Gathering of Eagles and tell me how they couldn't believe how far you've gone and how they couldn’t believe that I still link to you."

Really? You used to make the same kind of comments to me about another blogger.

"I never said the Founders were Socialists. I specifically said they weren’t."

Perhaps you should read your own posts:

". . . some Founders did support the overall principle [socialism] and as a result, the foundation of which our nation operates has socialist influence and flavor. (That ought to piss the Tea Party off.) Two individuals who are credited with sharing this mindset were Thomas Jefferson and Thomas Paine."

"The fact that you truly believe that the country has been taken over by a socialist administration comes off a bit paranoid."

The fact you don't reveals your naivete when it comes to political theory and observations.

"I don’t know about you but my quality of life continues to improve. And now that I work for the Govt. I really like it when they fund us and put more money in my pocket."

No need for me to comment there. You've revealed quite a lot with that statement Micheal.

"Finally, I never-ever said I was objective. I think Sarah Palin is a fraud and I that the TP folks and their candidates are embarrassing themselves."

Thank you for the clarification but I think most folks kinda figured you out already on that.

"They are THE only target of mine and will continue to call them out (along with the rest of the majority-media)."

Well certainly, if the media is on it, then it must be right.

Good Lord.

Michael, you said (paraphrasing) that you don't think the Founders were socialist and you don't think the current administration is either. You are correct on the first part but the second says you don't know the definition of socialist.

Michael Aubrecht said...

OK so say you’re right and the voters 'did' elect Socialists. I haven’t been asked to share any of my wealth. How about you? In fact, this administration hasn't accomplished much of anything in that regard, so your fears of a Socialist takeover appear to be for not.

Michael:

Debt. This administration, with the assistance of the last Congress (including Republicans), has already "shared the wealth" of our children and grandchildren. The devaluing of the dollar is a back door way of confiscating your wealth. Do you not understand basic economic theory? Moreover, they've enacted socialized medicine, totally federalized student loans and much of the auto industry. The administration has included avowed communists (Van Jones) as well as socialists who openly advocate European-style socialism. Many of the President's associates and mentors were/are socialists and leftists. I'm astounded at how much you either don't know or choose to ignore.

As a really good primer, I would suggest you go to my "Must Reads" page and take the time to read:

*Historians For Obama
*America's Ruling Class
*Religious Beliefs & Behavior of College Faculty

Come back and comment after doing so.

Mr. Williams, your rapier facts cut to the quick. You would make a great prosecuting attorney.
Some "historians" try to paint with a broad brush, missing the finer strokes. Not you, sir! Salute.

Thomas - thank you. I actually considered law school in my youth. I do have paralegal training and served 12 years as a magistrate for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Thanks again.
