Metal Detecting Post #41 - Recovery Of The Month - July 2011

One of the relic hunters with whom I regularly correspond, Mr. Beau Ouimette, recently recovered an extremely rare WBTS item - the spear point from a lance which belonged to one of Rush's Lancers. This is quite a discovery and he is in the process of writing an article for a national magazine about the details of his find. This is a photograph of this very rare WBTS relic. Notice that even after 150 years, part of the wood is still attached. History preserved. I'll post more about it once the article has been published later this year.

(I am going to try to post a relic "Recovery of the Month" from now on which will feature rare, unique relics recovered by metal detectorists. Stay tuned.)

Dear Old Dom.,
Outstanding find! I can hardly imagine a rarer Civil War artifact. Now it's up to you to find the lost Confederate Treasury gold!
