Dear Old Dom.,
Them enthusiastic Yankee fellers sure do talk funny, don't they?

Yes, Dave, they do! I love the various dialects in the US. My wife and I were in SW Virginia and North Carolina over the weekend. Folks tell me all the time I have a Southern accent, but it sure don't compare to those nice folks down that way. Love it.

Where in NC?

Mount Airy, Walnut Cove.

I've always wanted to go to Mt. Airy, but have never made it.

Where are you located Brock?

My family home is outside of Tarboro, but we stay in Cape Carteret most of the time. The Tarboro place is 1790 and 1810, so seems there should be interesting stuff to find as it wasn't re-done until 1988.

I gotta brother-in-law from New Bern.

About 40 minutes from here. The next time you visit him, you are welcome to come stay if you like the beach.

New Bern outside of Dublin/Pulaski area?

Richard G. Williams, Jr. said...

Brock - he was born and raised there, but he married a Blue Mountain girl - my wife's sister - and they live just a few miles from me. Give my offer some thought - could be quite interesting.

Certainly and you would be welcome to comb my Dixieland if you so desire. Seems like there should be stuff there.

My wife's family settled on the Neuse River! Johnston County, to be more precise.
