How Many Objective Historians Will Point This Out?

None. (They're too busy chasing "neo-Confederates" and our slave-owning Founding fathers.)

The lefty historians in academia and the blogosphere love to mock, laugh, and roll their eyes when someone suggests that Barack Obama is either a Marxist or a socialist. But I'm beginning to detect some nervousness in their laughter.

From a Washington Times article titled, New Obama slogan has long ties to Marxism, socialism:

The Obama campaign apparently didn't look backwards into history when selecting its new campaign slogan, "Forward" — a word with a long and rich association with European Marxism . . . Conservative critics of the Obama administration have noted numerous ties to radicalism and socialists throughout Mr. Obama's history, from his first political campaign being launched from the living room of two former Weather Underground members, to appointing as green jobs czar Van Jones, a self-described communist.

"Sometimes people don’t want to hear the truth because they don’t want their illusions destroyed." ~ Friedrich Nietzsche

This is just becoming way too easy. Read the piece here.

Really? Are you seriously posting about this? It's pretty sad when 'the right' has now resorted to complaining about a campaign slogan. Do you REALLY think this helps prove the 'Obama is a socialist conspiracy theory' that you and your conservative pals are trying to prove? And IF you're correct (which you're not) do you REALLY think America is in jeopardy of becoming a socialist regime. Seriously? I can sum up all of these kinds of posts by quoting three words…”the sky is falling – the sky is falling.” Look around…It’s not.

"Really", "Seriously" ??? - you sound like a teenager on Facebook.

You wrote:

Actually, that's 8 words (or 4 if you were referring to just the phrase). You any kin to Joe Biden?

Anyway, to your question:

"Do you REALLY think this helps prove the 'Obama is a socialist conspiracy theory' that you and your conservative pals are trying to prove?"

No, I don't - he and his administration has offered all the proof any objective observer needs. But it does fit. I think the slogan serves two purposes for the campaign - it "tweaks" the right and it sends a wink and a nod to the left.

"Look around…It’s not."

Take your rose-colored glasses off partner.

Anyway, here's some more "conspiracy theory" stuff to help you out:

Like I said, this is becoming just way too easy. But it's still fun. I wish I could at least get a comment that's challenging and causes me to think.

For someone who likes to condemn other folks for being 'non-objective' you have linked all conservative propaganda websites...hmmm? BTW, there are many people who are perfectly happy with the president and many experts believe that there is no way Mitt Romney can beat him so I would try to relax, get onboard with change, and get used to another four years.

JPB - Wow - great comeback! You convinced me.

"there are many people who are perfectly happy with the president."

November is a long way off. We shall say. No, I'll NEVER get "onboard" with the kind of radical change Obama is pushing.

You posted "No, I'll NEVER get "onboard" with the kind of radical change Obama is pushing."

That's not a problem because the majority of American voters already did. :) Forward!!

"the majority of American voters already did."

Yes, they did. Just like they did with Jimmy Carter in 1976.

However, I think there's quite a few who regret it - I know some. If 2012 is anything like the 2010 cycle, we are in for some real change. Backward!!

When (not 'if') President Obama is relected I'm going to come back and watch you eat your words.

Until then, keep being paranoid and posting your insecurities.

Also, please keep using the slogan 'Backwards!' It actually helps bring clarity to our cause.

"It actually helps bring clarity to our cause."

Oh, don't sweat that, your "cause" is already quite clear. But you may be right, my "paranoia" may be just that. If your side counts votes like you count words, Obama doesn't have a chance.

You said "If your side counts votes like you count words, Obama doesn't have a chance."

Didn't your side already prove that counting votes doesn't matter when Bush supposedly 'beat' Gore? ;)

Richard G. Williams, Jr. said...

Actually, they proved the opposite and the Supreme Court agreed. Where were you, practicing your numbers?

This has been fun JP, but I expect more of a challenge when debating this kind of thing. You're a clich├ęd non-thinker. You bore me. This is the last comment.
