An Illustration Of Common Core's Nonsense

Leave it to the "experts" to make the simple complicated. Is there any wonder why more and more families are choosing to homeschool? Good Lord.

A friend of mine, a real teacher, once told me the difference between a teacher and an educator. A teacher takes a complex subject and makes it understandable. An educator takes a simple subject and makes it incomprehensible.

Such a silly and unnecessary tortuous explanation for so simple and straightforward an operation, one can only imagine the convoluted process involved in long division or worse, finding a cube root.

It's a mindless Rube Goldburg approach to simple arithmetic, a sure fire prescription for introducing confusion and fostering levels of boredom sufficient to prevent learning.
