Peter Jackson Works Miracles With WWI Archival Film

As I continue to work with the film and photo editing (on a VERY amateur level) of my new vlog, I'm becoming even move fascinated with using film to share, teach and interpret history. I've been involved in two history related film projects over the last twenty-fiver years and I love the medium for teaching history and educating. Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings) is working on a new WWI film and has done some amazing work with archival footage. He's taken the grainy, fuzzy images and made them almost HD quality using the latest technology. My maternal grandfather (the grandson of a twice wounded Confederate Veteran) fought in WWI and will be the subject matter of one of my vlog posts this year.

Note the dramatic sharpening of the images in the clip below. Absolutely stunning.

I hope to have the introductory episdoe of my vlog uploaded by the end of this month - next week; assuming all goes as planned.
